The restriction on the traffic
in Kamikochi area

It is restricted to enter into Kamikochi National Park (from Nakanoyu gate to Kamikochi Bus Terminal) with private cars and sightseeing bus from the standpoint of nature conservation through the year.

We Matsumoto Electric Railway is using Electric-Motor/Diesel Hybrid Buses (with Hino Motor "HIMR" system) in this area to keep the impact of exhaust to minimum since 1994.

Note

There is 5 bus stops near each car parkings in Sawando area.

The car park is in Akandana.
You have to take the free shuttle bus (3 min.) or walk (10 min.) between the car park and Hirayu Bus Terminal.

The fare for a child (under 12 years) is a half of adult fare.
About the child fare application of child / infant with adult
(The infant here means the preschool child less than six years. )
One infant can get on by free about one adult. I will apply the child fare from the second person for taking.
 The baby of less than one year can get on only by an adult charge.
(for the above-mentioned, total fare is one adult only.)
  • When the infant gets on without adult, each person of the infant needs the child fare.
  • Sharing the seats with adult and infant is the condition for taking infants within adult fare. In case that there is a vacant seat we treats it has flexibility, but in case that there is no vacant seat / it needs reservations or boarding ticket, It is likely to ask to share the seat and hold the infant on your knee.

Times may vary because of traffic conditions or bad weather.
