Hakuba is a true gem and is known as one of Japan's most famous powder snow destinations. It has also been a venue host for the Nagano Winter Olympics in 1998, attracting winter sport lovers from far and wide. During the green season, the view of the majestic Northern Alps has made the area popular for mountain trekking and climbing. Because you can get close to the viewpoint by changing between the gondola and the ropeway, you can enjoy trekking comfortably.

02Hakuba Goryu Snow Resort
There are three ski slopes: Alps-Daira, Iimori and the Toomi slope. The Alps-Daira slope prides itself on being open for a long period, from the very start of the ski season until Golden Week. The Iimori and Toomi slopes have wide, gentle slopes and are recommended for beginners and children. In the evening, please enjoy Hakuba's largest night skiing area.

01Hakuba 47 Winter Sports Park
Of course, you can enjoy sliding around on skis or on a snowboard, but one of the area's major appeals is that it's also plenty of fun to just watch the riders slide around in the snow park. One additional popular thing is that the lift pass becomes a regular 2 ski resort pass because the area is connected to the Hakuba Goryu ski resort at the summit.

03Hakuba Happo-One Snow Resort
The Hakuba Happo-One Snow Resort is a sacred place for skiers in Japan and it was also the host for the Nagano Winter Olympics in 1998. The elevation difference between the summit and the foot of the mountain is over 1,000m. Another great appeal this area has is that you can enjoy long cruising for a maximum run distance of 8,000m.

04Hakuba Iwatake Snow Field
A great 360-degree panoramic view of the Hakuba mountain range spreads out in front of you. There is a wide, gentle slope on the summit, so even beginners can enjoy riding the gondola all the way up to the summit. The area is well equipped with slopes for beginners to advanced skiers, a snow park, a cross-country course and more.

05Tsugaike Kogen Snow Resort
With the 3000m-class Northern Alps in the background, its large scale and abundant snowfall are its most appealing features. The large gentle slope that's 1,200m wide is perfect for families and beginners. You can enjoy about 5 kilometers of long cruising on the 4,000m gondola lift that takes you all the way to the summit.

06Hakuba Norikura Onsen Snow Resort
A spectacular view of the Northern Alps that spread out in front of you. With its charming romantic location, it feels just like a private resort. There's a wide range of ski slopes, from gentle courses where you can ski comfortably as a beginner or as a family, to slopes with a maximum 38-degree steepness that satisfy advanced skiers, as well as mogul courses and plenty of variations.

07Hakuba Cortina Snow Resort
Taking pride in being one of the heaviest snowfall areas, this place is popular because of its tree runs and its powder snow-covered slopes. The hotel Green Plaza Hakuba has 257 guest rooms, and as the largest hotel in the area is of course equipped with hot spring facilities. They also offer an extensive menu at the five restaurants that it manages within the resort.

01Hakuba Goryu Alpine Botanical Garden
The Hakuba Goryu Alpine Botanical Garden is a place where you can enjoy both precious alpine plants as well as the Northern Alps. There are about 2 million alpine plants of more than 300 different species blooming. The botanical garden that lies at 1,515m above sea level can be easily accessed by boarding the gondola and lift. The botanical garden is equipped with a promenade and there are also trekking courses that range from an easy 1~1.5-hour walking course to a 3.5-hour authentic trekking course.

02Hakuba Happo Pond
Located at an altitude of 2,060m, this mysterious pond formed by melted snow reflects Hakuba Sanzan like a large mirror. In the summer you can see the beautiful mountains still covered with a bit of remaining snow and in autumn you can see the scarlet-colored autumn leaves. It has been chosen as "One of Japan's 36 most beautiful places"*, and is one of the sights you should definitely see

03HAKUBA MOUNTAIN HARBOR
Admire the Northern Alps that spread out in front of your eyes at a height difference of 2,200m. From the top of the mountain, you can enjoy a huge panoramic view that differs with each season. Unforgettable places such as the extraordinary terrace & cafe "HAKUBA MOUNTAIN HARBOR" let you forget time. A superb spot with a view of the three-tiered autumn scenery with the snow-capped mountains on the top, the red autumn leaves in the middle on the hills and the green moss overlapping with the trees on the bottom.

04Hakuba Tsugaike Wow!
An adventure facility originally from France that opened in the summer of 2018. There are various thrilling activities to enjoy such as "AMIDAS", where you jump and crawl through huge nets, and "TOBIDAS TOWER", where you (bungee) jump off the top of the tower with a wire. The park also has an in-house restaurant. Recommended for children and families.
05Tsugaike Nature Park
Easily accessible by the gondola and ropeway, the Tsugaike Nature Park is a observational wetland located at an altitude of 2,010m and is the only area in Japan where you can see the Hakuba Daisekkei (big snow valley) which is one of Japan's 3 largest snow valleys. In spring, summer and autumn, the scenery becomes full of nature which can sooth people. A large part of the hiking route is equipped with wooden paths, which have been renewed to make it easier to walk on, and can be enjoyed by anyone, from children to elderly people.

06Oide Park
The view of Hakuba Sanzan that you can see from Oide Park is one of the most famous viewpoints in Hakuba village. The scenery of Hakuba almost feels like you've stepped several decades back in time, with the large suspension bridge that hangs over the clear stream of the Hime River, the private houses with thatched roofs and the mountains of Hakuba in the background. Oide Park is a place where you can enjoy various landscapes during the four seasons, such as the scenery in spring when the cherry blossoms in the park turn pink.

We highly recommend our chartered taxi/van taxi service to people traveling with a small group such as a family trip. Of course, it is possible to make a day trip from Hakuba to a nearby sightseeing place, as well as arrange transport directly to your hotel from Nagano Station or Narita or Haneda Airport without any transfers, and vice versa.

When will the winter timetable for Hakuba-bound buses be published? When do reservations open?

The winter timetable for Hakuba-bound buses is scheduled as follows (please keep in mind that the schedule may be changed due to circumstances):

Can you buy ticket for the Narita Airport ~ Hakuba line and the Haneda Airport ~ Hakuba line on the day itself?

If there are still seats available on the day itself, you can buy a ticket and board the bus, but we do recommend buying a ticket in advance.

Are reservations for the bus from Nagano Station to Hakuba possible?

Reservations are possible for a some buses of the Nagano Station~Hakuba line. Please check the reservations website from the timetable page. For buses that do not accept reservations, seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis on the day itself. (Nagano Station ~ Hakuba Bus Timetable)

When can you start skiing in Hakuba?

It depends on the snowfall, but you can usually ski around the entire area from the middle or the end of December.
