Takayama is a popular historical town in the mountainous Hida region. This town still has a touch of historic old world Japan, with its rows of well-preserved old shops and houses. Stroll through the historic town wearing yukata or take a rickshaw for a unique experience. Make sure to also drop by one or two of the local sweets shops.
