Express Bus Hakuba

PLEASE READ BEFORE MAKING AN INQUIRY!!

1. For the non-reserved (NR) buses; you cannot reserve a seat or buy a ticket in advance. Boarding is on a first-come, first-served basis, and purchasing a ticket does not guarantee that you will be able to board your preferred service. Please purchase your ticket on the day of boarding, and then join the boarding queue. If you board the bus at a stop without a ticket counter, you can buy your ticket onboard. Only one bus departs at each scheduled time but we usually add extra buses on busy days, but we cannot guarantee a seat for everyone. If you are concerned, please line up early (at least 30 minutes before) to board the bus.

2. The timetable is not expected to change significantly from last year, so please refer to the timetable from the previous year until the updated one becomes available.

3. This bus operates every day, yearly.

4. To check seat availability for the reserved bus, please visit the reservation page. If the bus is fully booked, you will see indicators such as “×”, “No Seat Available”, or “Not Available”. We will not answer to the inquiries about the seat availability.

5. The online reservation system and the ticket counter share the same seat availability. If online bookings show no available seats, the ticket counter will have the same status.

6. If you don’t see the bus you want to book on the booking website, it means that bus is full. Please choose another available bus. Alternatively, check the timetable carefully to see if it’s an R (Reserved bus) or NR (Non-reserved bus) that cannot be booked.

7.  This bus has a luggage compartment where you can stow your suitcases. There are no restrictions on the number or size of items. Please make sure to use dedicated covers or bags for your skis, snowboard, and snowshoes. We do not take any responsibility for any damage to your belongings.

9. We add more buses during busy times. But if the bus becomes full, please board the next available bus.

10. Alpico does not handle the operation of the reservation website. If you encounter issues like your card being denied, the reservation page loading slowly, not sure what to fill in the form, error occuring while proceeding, or being unable to proceed despite availability, etc., please reach out to Keio Dentetsu, which is the company that manages the reservation website, directly at info@highwaybus.com for help. (We often receive inquiries about card denials, but when we test it, it usually works fine. So, please try using other cards or attempt booking later the next day or so.)

11. We do not accept reservation via phone or email.

12. When making a reservation online, if your country phone number has less than 9 digits, add a 0 at the beginning to meet the requirement (9-11 digits).

13. The bus ticket for the Nagano to Hakuba line that you purchased allows you to board any bus on the same day (Non-reserved bus only).

15. This bus does not have a restroom onboard.

Q1: Where can I purchase tickets for the Nagano – Hakuba bus?
A1: If you are boarding at Nagano Station, you can purchase tickets at:
1. Nagano Station Alpico Transport Information Center (Credit card or Cash)
2. Onboard the bus (Visa Contactless Credit/Debit card or Cash).
3. Ticket vending machine inside JR Nagano station’s ticket office (Midori-no-madoguchi)

If you are boarding at Hakuba Happo Bus Terminal, you can purchase tickets at:
1. Ticket vending machine (Cash only)
2. Onboard the bus (Visa Contactless Credit/Debit card or Cash)

If you are boarding the bus at a location other than Nagano Station and Hakuba Happo Bus Terminal, please purchase your ticket onboard the bus (Visa Contactless Credit/Debit card or Cash).

Q2: I have only 10 minutes to transfer from the train to the Nagano Hakuba Line bus at Nagano Station. Will I make it in time?
A2: The distance between the train station’s ticket gate and the bus stop is within a 10-minute walking distance. However, depending on train delays or if you have a lot of luggage, there is a possibility that you may not make it in time. (You can purchase Nagano Hakuba Line bus tickets with cash or by Visa contactless credit card/debit card onboard the bus.)

【Children’s fares】

■6 years and older: Adult fare
■1 to under 6 years old: Child fare (Half of adult fare)
■Under 1 year old: Travel free if not occupying a seat. However, they count as passengers and may be refused boarding if capacity is reached. Therefore, if the maximum capacity is reached, we reserve the right to refuse boarding for children not paying fares. It’s recommended to purchase a ticket (child fare) even if the child won’t occupy it.
