From business to leisure, weddings or other events, we have you covered for a whole range of needs. There are 190 rooms of more than 20 different types, and 4 restaurants, each with a distinctive style. We also have a large banquet hall that can accommodate 1,000 guests plus small and medium sized venues, meeting rooms, a chapel, and a beauty salon. As the largest full service city hotel in the prefecture, we entertain many guests, including VIPs from the rest of Japan and abroad.
The rooms are decorated with bright, fresh colors, based on the natural beauty of Shinshu, Matsumoto. They are equipped with a spacious Simmons bed, a combined air purifier and humidifier, trouser press and safe.
Twin rooms have a sofa bed that is comfortable to both sit and lie on, and can accommodate 3 people. They are ideal for both families and friends.
The rooms were designed based on the image of a “refreshing breeze” blowing over the natural beauty of Shinshu, Matsumoto.
All rooms are equipped with a Simmons bed, a combined air purifier and humidifier, a trouser press and a safe. All rooms are now non-smoking. The rooms are ideal for both sightseeing and business.
Enjoy the luxury of spending time looking down at the night view of Matsumoto. These are ideal rooms for guests who want to enjoy some special time or guests who want to experience something that is different from their everyday routine.
The dark brown interior is modern and stylish, and the comfortable king-size Simmons bed made with sheets that feel soft to the skin promises a comfortable night’s sleep. The 100% cotton waffle fabric pajamas and special amenities are only available in Executive Rooms. Guests staying on the Executive Floor can enjoy free snacks and drinks in the exclusive and stylish lounge. We can promise a comfortable stay at the hotel.
The Hotel Buena Vista Suite Rooms, which since the opening hotel have welcomed many notable guests and VIPs, were completely renovated in spring 2018.
The theme of the rooms is ‘neomodern classicism’. Offering a balance between a sense of refinement from the white coloration and a sense of openness, after the renovation the rooms are now both bright and warm, and are a very sophisticated space.
As well as a bar and shop, the hotel has 4 restaurant – a café and dining restaurant, a Chinese restaurant, a Japanese restaurant and a French restaurant – offering a variety of options for a range of situations. We are proud of the food we offer, and we hope that you will enjoy both the food and the atmosphere of the restaurants while chatting with family or friends.
A hearty breakfast is available at the ‘Sorpresa’ restaurant located on the top floor of the hotel, where you can take in the wonderful view while at the same time enjoying flaky croissants baked daily at the bakery, and other dishes that make use of Shinshu Koshihikari rice, Shinshu miso and other local ingredients.
In the evenings, you can sit at the bar counter and look out at the night view of Matsumoto while enjoying a delicious cocktail or other drinks and some of the highly recommended bar food available at Sorpresa.
Executive Lounge
For the exclusive use of guests staying on the Executive Floor, the lounge is a refined place to relax and unwind. As well as the serving of light snacks, soft drinks and cocktails in the lounge, various services are also available. Relax in the lounge while looking out over the Northern Alps.
Hotel Store and Pastry Shop: Paseo
The shop offers a wide range of products, gifts that are only available in Shinshu, Matsumoto, bread and cakes made in the hotel to take out, guidebooks and information magazines useful for sightseeing in the local area, and a selection of other items that are useful when you are out and about. Whether you are at the hotel for sightseeing, on business or to attend a party, do drop in at the shop.
Convention Hall
This banquet hall offers a refined atmosphere and ample facilities. The space can be used for banquets, meetings, exhibitions and other events and we will be happy to suggest suitable options and arrangements to meet your needs from our wide range of party plans. We promise that both hosts and guests will be satisfied.
Free Shuttle Bus
The free shuttle bus runs along the shortest route between the Hotel Buena Vista and Matsumoto Station. Guidance is given by our professional female drivers. This is an ideal service for guests visiting on business, guests who are in a hurry to get to the station, or guests who wish to go into the city for sightseeing.

13:00 to 20:30 (For buses waiting in front of Matsumoto Station)

Guests staying at the Hotel Buena Vista can use for free the large hot spring baths at the ‘Shoho’ hotel operated by the Alpico Hotel Group. (A free return bus is available) Why not enjoy relaxing in an open air hot spring surrounded by the beautiful mountains of Shinshu.
